Big Data Tech Skills

1. Hands-on experience including solution architecture, design of enterprise applications on the Java, J2EE platform
2. Certification from one of the Big Data vendors Cloudera, Hortonworks, IBM, Databricks
3. Educational background in Data science is preferred.
4. Sound knowledge on BigData ecosystem, Spark/Storm, NOSQL etc
5. Hands on experience in working with Hadoop ecosystems, HDFS, Map Reduce, HBase, Hive, Flume, Oozie, Pig and Sqoop, Spark
6. Hadoop development and implementation, Pre-processing using Hive and Pig.
7. Designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting Hadoop.
8. Perform analysis of vast data stores and uncover insights.
9. Previous experience in reporting and predictive modeling is preferred.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Senior industry expert with BigData background. 
• Will use his/her diverse experience across BigData technologies to come up with solutions and use cases that appeal to customers.  
• Work closely with verticals to drive such solutions. 
• Constantly stay in touch with field –sales and account teams and evangelize BigData offerings and updates. 
• Build a world class set of collateral across all our offerings.
• Own and drive all response – proposals, RFI, customer presentations, demonstratns, PoCs etc for the sole purpose of growing the business. 
• Should be well versed with overall IT landscape, technologies, machine learning techniques and should be able to analyze how different technologies integrates with each other
• Should be able to provided scalable and robust solution architecture depending on the needs
• Should be able to compare tools and technologies and recommend a tool or technology
• Must have good understanding of Data Structures, Distributed processing framework, machine learning techniques etc.
• Must have experience of executing at least two-three big data projects (end to end) and one big data analytics project (end-to-end
• Candidate must have strong background & hands on experience of a. JAVA  or b. Data warehouse / ETL/BI or c. DWH appliances
• Must have strong client handling skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment stay motivated and flexible.
• Ability to work cross functionally to deliver appropriate resolution of technical, procedural, and operational issues.
• Deep Knowledge of either Cloudera/HortonWorks/MapR/Pivotal
• Hands-on experience with either Mahout/Spark-MLlib/any other platform support distributed machine learning platforms
• Familiar with analytic techniques for classification, clustering, recommendation engine, time series modeling etc.
• Good knowledge of NoSQL Databases/HBase/ MongoDB
• Very good understanding of in-memory databases and distributed databases
• Thoroughly understanding of how to handle real time data integration
• Good understanding of security aspects including Kerberos, Sentry etc
• Good experience with databases and SQL
• Good experience with one programming language like Scala, Java, Python etc
